Doubtful Sound Full Day Private Sightseeing Tour

A tree-clad crystal alpine lake, a towering mountain pass and the serene silence of a fiord unchanged since time began make Doubtful Sound a truly unforgettable day.

Doubtful Sound Full Day Private Sightseeing Tour

Where Milford bustles with the thrill of discovery, Doubtful’s ‘Sound of Silence’ is marked by serenity, awe and solitude. It feels like having the entire spectacle to yourself.

Far below the waters teem with fish while on the surface New Zealand fur seals bask and crested penguins hunt and play. Dolphins are regular visitors and even the odd whale drops in to share the peace and quiet.

Your luxury private driver guide between Queenstown and Manapouri puts the finishing touch of ease and comfort on a day full of wonder.

Tour itinerary:
• Departing from Queenstown in your private luxury vehicle, we begin the lakeside drive to the south of Queenstown, which unfolds into the lush green of Southland’s alpine farming country before heading for the unforgettable drama of Fiordland’s scenery

• The crystal clear waters of Lake Manapouri provide the second leg of this unforgettable journey, a cruise to West Arm to join a coach for the short scenic trip to Deep Cove

• Wilmot Pass is one of New Zealand’s most remote sub-alpine crossings, complete with dense rainforest and spectacular views of Doubtful Sound glinting far below

• At Deep Cove the Patea Explorer is your vessel for a three hour cruise around the most dramatic scenery of Doubtful Sound, the second largest of the 14 fiords in Fiordland, where nature guides provide engaging commentary and point out highlights

• Bottlenose dolphins frequently swim alongside, fur seals bask on the rocks around the fiord and rare penguins can be observed in season
