Itinerary:
Day 1: Welcome to Auckland

You will be met on arrival and Auckland Airport and transferred to your accommodation. Park Hyatt is one of Auckland newest hotels, positioned perfectly on Auckland’s waterfront. You will forget you are in the CBD of New Zealand’s largest city, with views across Wynard Quarter and the Waitemata Harbour. A truly spectacular spot to start your New Zealand vacation.


Day 2: City sightseeing tour / Fly Auckland to Kawau Island

This morning your driver will collect you from your accommodation for Auckland City Sightseeing. You will have the opportunity to explore the city sights at your leisure, including two main harbours, Auckland Harbour Bridge, Auckland Domain and Mt Eden. On return to the waterfront, board your seaplane for the 20 minute flight to Kawau Island. Accommodation for the next 2 nights is at “The Beach House” Kawau Island, where you can overlook the glistening Vivian Bay waters, and the changing light of Tawharanui regional park.


Day 3: Kawau Island at Leisure

We have left today free for you to explore your surroundings, or just relax on your white sand beach. Kawau Island is one of the largest islands in the Hauraki Gulf. Steeped in New Zealand history. The island is approximately 5000 acres. Sightseeing or fishing excursions are available.


Day 4: Kawau Island / Russell

A water taxi will collect you from the wharf, as you farewell this haven. On arrival at the mainland your driver will be waiting to transfer you to Piahia. You will travel north through many small settlements before arriving into Piahia. At the ferry wharf your driver will bid you farewell as you ferry from Piahia to Russell, a 5 minute ferry journey. Staff from Donkey Bay Inn will meet you at the wharf and transfer you to your exquisite accommodation for the next 3 nights.


Day 5: Bay of Islands

A free day today to enjoy the Bay of Islands and Donkey Bay Inn. You may wish to make the most of your time and take a flight up to Cape Reinga, New Zealand’s northern most point where the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean meet, or maybe a tour of historic Russell?


Day 6: Bay of Islands

A second free day to see everything that you did not get to see yesterday, or maybe a round of golf, swim in the bay, a lovely long lunch in the sun, so many choices in the Bay of Islands.


Day 7: Bay of Islands / Auckland

Time to head back to Auckland and leave the beaches and bays behind. Your driver will be waiting for you at the wharf in Paihia. Travel south through Kawakawa and the bush clad hills of the region before arriving into Whangarei. The further south you travel the more populated countryside becomes. On arrival into Auckland you will check in to the familiar Park Hyatt. Enjoy your final night beside the ocean.


Day 8: Farewell from Auckland

Your private driver will collect you from the hotel and transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight.

What is a Private Tour?
Private Tours are exclusive to you. We can accommodate from one passenger up to forty eight passengers. We have a large variety of luxury vehicles available ranging from 2 seater BMW sedans, 3 – 19 seater Mercedes vans and 5 star coaches. Our drivers are fully experienced New Zealanders, offering a full personalised commentary, passing on their local knowledge right down to the best photo opportunities, or where to get a great coffee.  Private Tours can be designed exclusively for you or your group, allowing you to get off the beaten track while you sit back and relax. We will design a tour to suit your needs and we happily cater for Kosher, Halal, Vegan and most other speciality requirements. A wonderful personalised way to travel around New Zealand, mixing our knowledge of New Zealand with your requirements. It’s a perfect match.

What dates do your tours depart?
As the private tours are customised, your tour can depart any day of the year.

What time do the tours leave each day?
As you are on a tour designed for you, departure times can vary, we will develop an itinerary with departure times to suit your requirements.

What is included in the tour cost?
All tours include services of a highly experienced driver guide, luxury vehicle large enough to accommodate you and your fellow travellers comfortably. Accommodation and sightseeing activities as specified. A detailed travel wallet with your travel vouchers and comprehensive itinerary will be sent to you prior to your departure or delivered to your pre tour accommodation for you to collect on check in.

What standard of accommodation should I expect for my private tour?
Our private tour packages include luxury accommodation. However, we are happy to quote on a private tour for you utilising the following:  Motor Lodge, Apartments, Hotels or luxury lodges.

I am travelling with children, what price will I pay?
Please contact us for information on child fares, as these vary based on the specific product you require. Some sightseeing activities are unsuitable for children.

Are any meals included in the tour cost?
Our private tour packages, include dinner and breakfast. However, we can include all meals, some meals or no meals in your very own customised tour. Please advise your requirements and will quote accordingly.

Is Halal, Kosher and other speciality food available in New Zealand? 
Along with a small population of Muslims, New Zealand has an increasing number of Muslim visitors. Halal food and restaurants are now found in many areas of the country, let us now if you require this and we will compile a list for you. In regards to Kosher we can arrange this if required.  We can also offer advice in regards to Vegan and other special requirements.

What if I cannot find exactly what I am looking for on the website?
Let us know what is on your wish list to see and do and we are more than happy to help you plan a customised tour.

How much luggage can I take on my tour?
Each passenger may take 2 pieces of luggage (max 25kg each). For safety reasons, each passenger is limited to one carry on item (max 5kg). We also advise you check the maximum baggage allowance with your chosen airline.

How do I make a payment for a tour?
For bookings made more than 30 days prior to travel, Pacific Travel require a deposit of NZ$50 per person. This deposit is non-refundable. Balance of payment is due 30 days prior to travel. For bookings made 30 days or less prior to travel, full payment is required at the time of booking. Visa & MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. A 2.5% Credit Card Fee applies to all payments by credit card. You may pay via direct bank transfer to avoid the credit card fee. Bank details will be on your booking advice. All prices advertised are in New Zealand dollars and are GST inclusive.

What is your cancellation policy?
If after your booking has been confirmed you wish to cancel, the following cancellation fees will apply:
Cancellations 30 or more days prior to travel: Your deposit.
Cancellations 0 – 29 days prior to travel: no refund.
Booking amendments made by you. An amendment fee may be charged, to cover our administration and communication costs. We may also need to pass on any amendment/cancellation fees imposed by our suppliers.

Conditions of travel
Pacific Travel reserves the right to alter fares, amend itineraries, book alternative accommodation or to cancel tours. Pacific Travel Ltd shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage to luggage or personal effects and/or damage resulting in death or personal injury, which may arise whilst travelling with Pacific Travel Ltd or its nominated suppliers. All transportation, both land and sea, is subject to the terms and conditions of the company providing the transport, some of which limit or exclude liability. These are available from the carriers concerned on request.

Will I need travel insurance?
We strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance. Factors may arise that require you to cancel or amend your holiday, so it is essential you are covered for any costs that may be incurred. We recommend purchasing your travel insurance locally at the same time as you book your tour and flights. Pacific Travel Ltd does not sell travel insurance.

Do I need to tip in New Zealand?
If you wish to reward someone for a job well done it is always much appreciated.

Do I need a visa to visit New Zealand?
Most visitors to New Zealand do not require a visa to enter for the purpose of a holiday or vacation under the visa waiver program. If you do need a visa to visit New Zealand then you should contact the New Zealand consulate in your home country well before your departure date. We recommend you also check with your local travel agent or airline for any visa requirements to New Zealand particularly if you are passing through Australia. What currency is used in New Zealand?
