Just a few minutes outside of Blenheim is the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. The exhibition features Sir Peter Jackson’s personal collection of WW1 aircraft and memorabilia. Captivating scenes depict the aircraft in context, sometimes recreating an incident that actually happened in the war. This story of aviation in the Great War is brought to life in sensational sets created by the internationally acclaimed talent of WingNut Films and Weta Workshop. Back in central Blenheim, there are plenty of great cafes, restaurants and galleries along with the popular walkways of the Taylor River Reserve.
