Thanks to Tess and Jodee from Scenic pacific gave us the unforgettable experience of 6-day South Island trip without driving. We believed we have explored the most we wish to see, as comfortable as we can, in the vast land of New Zealand under limited time.

We started from Christchurch and were up in mt cook for short hiking, queenstown gondola star gazing, horse-riding, oyster dinner by the lake, Milford sound, glacier, short tracking in lake matheson and finally took the tranzalpine train from Greymouth back to Christchurch. What Scenic pacific have done was to put us in different local tours or transportation vendors that match with our itin, picked up from accommodation door to door to destination that was hassle-freed.

Scenic pacific provided professional comments to fine-tune our itinerary according to feasibility E.g. They had suggested us to stay queenstown for star-gazing as we stayed there 3 nights with higher chance to see clear sky dependent on weather. All local motel recommended were very decent.

Overall a very pleasant journey and I do appreciated for the excellent job Tess and Jodee have done for us!
It was a seamless, safe and smooth sailing independent trip for a solo traveler.

I enjoyed dealing with both Sophie and Janet as they helped to put together my itinerary despite the short notice I gave them especially with our difference in time zones prior to the trip. The team was efficient, responsive and professional in planning out my entire southern tour.

During the tour, I like how the bus conductors were always happy to share their knowledge as we drive past the scenic places with their commentaries. My hotels were clean and strategically located.

Only downside was the unpredictable rain during winter so do plan for extra time if traveling during off peak seasons in order to get the best of the trip.

Overall, it was an awesome solo trip and I would definitely go back because of how Scenic Pacific made it so memorable for me.
Sorry for the delay in replying but we have only just got home from our travels and are still recovering as we started out on 30th Sep.

We were both very impressed with the Scenic Pacific tour we booked with you. Everything worked as clockwork, it was very well organised. We had some brilliant bus drivers, Tom, Marcus & Peter especially.

The tours were excellent with plenty of stops for refreshments and scenic stops. The 3 drivers mentioned gave really interesting information on the journeys which was appreciated. The hotel in Queenstown was lovely and the Motel in Franz Josef was too.

I know that we were very lucky too with the weather as I gather before we started out this had not been too good for a while. We saw Mount Cook, Milford Sound and Queenstown in beautiful weather.

Also, we were so lucky that the Heli hike in Franz Josef went ahead and we had sun on the glacier too. We were one of only 3 groups that were able to go on the day as the weather changed and went on the only day for a week they had actually taken tours up there.

Many thanks and please pass this on to Tess who originally sorted our booking out for us.
From our first inquiry to booking and collection of our travel pack, we were very pleased with the help from the staff at Scenic Pacific.

The tour was really good, and although the bus journeys were long to see the places we wanted to get to, they were well worth it and the drivers (especially Tom, Marcus & Peter) were really friendly and gave interesting information during the trips. There were plenty of refreshment stops and we also stopped at some lovely scenic points.

We were so lucky with the weather we had and so saw some of New Zealand’s most beautiful scenery at its best. The hotel in Queenstown was in a great location and the motel in Franz Josef was great too. We would really recommend using the bus to get to Milford Sound and then if possible booking the flight back to Queenstown as flying over the mountains was amazing.

Our highlight though was the heli-hike up onto the Franz Josef glacier, so luck the weather held for us to do this on the day.

We would happily recommend Scenic Pacific to anyone who wanted to see the main areas of the South Island , we were very pleased with what we experienced.
Many thanks to all the staff.
This was our first tour outside of our familiar grounds (U.S. and Canada). We were looking for a group tour and saw great review of Scenic Pacific Travel and decided to give a try.

Lisa was our main tour planner; she was fun to talk to and worked hard to accommodate our last minute change by adding one more stop at doubtful sound to our 6 day tour. The additional route to doubtful sound was suggested by Sophie during our weekend phone call to the office.

The whole tour was seamless from the time we were picked up from our hotel in Christchurch. Scenery along the way was breath taking and accommodations were great and restaurants are within walking distance to our motel/hotels.

Our tour was based on tourist class package with exception of Queenstown where we stayed in the Copthorne Hotel and Resort Lakefront, which was an upgrade. At Copthorne we asked for a room with view and hotel gave us a room where we can see snow covered mountains. The nearby Queenstown Garden is also a must see scenic spot.

Thank you Lisa and Sophie for planning our wonderful tour of south island and will recommend to our friends.
Just want you to know that all of the plans and connections have gone without a hitch.

Every transport connection, hotel and tour. Bernie and I have thoroughly enjoyed our South Island experience. Bernie is still talking about his Grand Traverse flight at Franz Josef!!!

We leave Queenstown tomorrow when the super shuttle arrives but will bring home terrific memories and amazing photographs.

Thanks for helping us make it happen! Best wishes for 2018.

No, unfortunately. You must pay the single room – per person cost.

Can I add in additional nights to a tour?
Yes you can. All tours are very flexible. Please ask one of our Travel Consultants for extra nightly rates.

What is the difference between quality and tourist class accommodation?
Quality class:
Hotel style accommodation with a restaurant on site, 4 star standard. At times 4 star motor lodges are also used.
Tourist class: Self contained style accommodation with ensuite bathrooms and kitchenette facilities, 3.5 – 4 star standard. Breakfast provisions can be purchased from these properties but you will need to go to the town centre to purchase your evening meal. We endeavour where possible to book accommodation that is within easy walking distance of the centre of town.

Let us know what is on your wish list to see and do and we are more than happy to help you plan a customised tour.
