Day By Day Itinerary

DAY 1 - WELCOME TO AUCKLAND

On arrival at Auckland Airport you’ll be met by private car and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city. You could visit the Sky Tower for spectacular views of the city. Perhaps visit the Auckland Museum or go shopping in stylish Parnell. This evening meet your Travel Director and fellow travelling companions for a welcome reception.

DAY 2 - AUCKLAND / BAY OF ISLANDS

This morning depart Auckland City and travel north over the Harbour Bridge past the sprawling suburbs of the North Shore of Auckland. Our travels then take you through Nothland’s lush farmland scenery before arriving into the beautiful Bay of Islands. Experience spectacular scenery as you cruise through game fishing waters to Cape Brett and, weather permitting, through the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’ formation. The return cruise to Paihia meanders through picturesque islands – see deserted sandy beaches and secluded bays and keep your eyes peeled for the marine life. This evening enjoy dinner at your hotel.

DAY 3 - BAY OF ISLANDS

Included Choice Choose one from a range of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. Perhaps go on a dolphin watching cruise, journey around Kerikeri on a wine tasting tour, or take a guided walk through Russell – New Zealand’s first capital. Explore the Waitangi Treaty Grounds with a dazzling Maori cultural performance. Or this evening sail aboard a historic tall ship as the sun sets.

DAY 4 - BAY OF ISLANDS / AUCKLAND

After a morning of free time, enjoy the lush farmland scenery as you return to Auckland. Tonight’s highlight dinner is at The Cordis. Your personal degustation menu is prepared for you from the freshest quality ingredients, including mouthwatering seafood and desserts.

DAY 5 - AUCKLAND / ROTORUA

After a sightseeing tour of Auckland, trace the Waikato River to the Waitomo Caves to sail through the fascinating Glowworm Grotto and discover the limestone formations. On arrival in Rotorua an orientation tour takes in views of Lake Rotorua. Tonight enjoy a Maori Hangi feast highlight dinner and concert for an insight into Maori culture at the Tamaki Maori Village.

DAY 6 - ROTORUA

Today choose one from a range of Included Choice sightseeing experiences. You have the option to discover Maori culture at Te Puia Maori Arts and Crafts Institute or unwind at the Polynesian Spa. Maybe ride the amphibious Rotorua Duck or take the Hobbiton Movie Tour. Tonight you have the option of staying at your hotel or with a nearby Kiwi family. A warm welcome awaits you on your New Zealand rural homestay and your hosts will provide you with the wonderful Kiwi hospitality that really makes you feel ‘at home’. Enjoy dinner and breakfast, a tour to introduce you to their way of life and comfortable accommodation in their home or cottages. You may choose to meet the animals, which may include sheep, cows, deer and many others, or simply relax and enjoy the company of your hosts and the scenic surroundings. (Additional cost).

DAY 7 - ROTORUA / WELLINGTON

View mighty Huka Falls and drive along the shores of Lake Taupo. Discover the alpine scenery of Mt. Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park. This afternoon visit Shenandoah for a unique Be My Guest experience. The historic villa’s owners, Simon and Claudia, will show you around their property. Enjoy afternoon tea in their garden then take a short tour to see the local wildlife including friendly Highland cows. Continue along the Kapiti Coast to Wellington. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner at your hotel

DAY 8 - FAREWELL FROM WELLINGTON

This morning visit Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand and explore the fascinating exhibits at your leisure. Later you will be transferred by private car to Wellington Airport for your onward flight.
