Additional notes:

  • Ride time is 1 hour 30 minutes over an easy 14 kilometres
  • Please advise bike size when booking
  • It’s a good idea to bring a warm, waterproof jacket, wear shorts or light trousers and comfortable footwear suitable for cycling. Don’t forget insect repellent, sunscreen and plenty of memory card space on your camera.


Cruise on Spirit of Queenstown to Mt Nicholas High Country Farm on the western shores of Lake Wakatipu, then cycle along a quiet, back country road through open farm land to Walter Peak. Take in panoramic alpine views looking towards the Southern Alps, Glenorchy​ and Remarkables mountain ranges as you cycle at your own pace over easy terrain along the lake edge on a marked trail.

On arrival at Walter Peak, enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch before boarding the vintage steamship TSS​ Earnslaw for the return cruise back to Queenstown.
