Itinerary

This full day tour includes a lovely scenic drive from Christchurch over the Canterbury plains before arriving in Kaikoura.

Once in Kaikoura we make our way to a lookout to enjoy the breath-taking views of the seaward Kaikoura Mountain Ranges and out over the Kaikoura Peninsula. Next we make our way around to a Seal colony before heading into Kaikoura for some free time to explore and enjoy lunch in any one of the cafes (own cost).

Board a modern catamaran for an exciting Whale Watch Tour with Kaikoura Whale Watch. Kaikoura Whale Watch has won many international awards for tourism excellence and marine conservation. This tour offers up-close encounters with the Giant Sperm Whale. A typical Whale Watch encounter may include Fur Seals, pods of Dusky Dolphins and endangered Wandering Albatross just to name a few of the incredible species you may see.

With a beautiful setting between the Kaikoura Mountain ranges and the coastal waters rich with marine mammals and birdlife, this is the perfect day out to catch sight of some lens friendly wildlife.
