Day 1 Queenstown-Fox Glacier
Leaving Queenstown travel with Newmans Coachlines to the West Coast passing through Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea before climbing over the Haast Pass into the Westland National Park. The Haast Pass is our southern most Pass that traverses the Southern Alps linking the east coast with the west coast.
Accommodation: Distinction Fox Glacier Hotel, Rainforest Motel Fox Glacier or similar

Day 2 Fox Glacier
Today we have included a guided walk which accesses the rugged terminal ice face of the glacier. Round trip takes about four hours with about 1 hour spent exploring the lower glacier. Enjoy a fascinating commentary on the history and geology of the area. The rest of the day is free for optional activities which may include scenic flights up to the glaciers, or short walks into the native rainforest.

Day 3 Fox Glacier-Christchurch
Travel north with InterCity Coachlines through lush rainforests and spectacular scenery to Greymouth where we transfer on to the world famous TranzAlpine train. A remarkable journey of little more than four hours from the west coast to the east coast including the lush rainforest of the Arthur's Pass National Park. Pass through the Southern Alps via the Otira Tunnel, cross massive viaducts over the Waimakariri Gorge descending to the fertile farmlands of the Canterbury Plains and on to the garden city of Christchurch where you arrive at 6.05pm
