Travel with Alpine Coachlines following the historical Otago goldfields trail to Pukerangi. Join the Taieri Gorge train for a sentimental journey over viaducts and through the Central Otago hill country to the city of Dunedin.
Accommodation: Scenic Hotel Southern Cross, Alexis Motor Lodge or similar
You have the morning at leisure in Dunedin. In the afternoon you will join Monarch Wildlife Tours and around Taiaroa Heads to view the royal albatross followed by a guided land tour to view yellow-eyed penguins at Penguin Place. The tour will include a cruise along Otago Harbour in one direction and a scenic coach journey in the other direction.

Morning at leisure in Dunedin. Depart Dunedin 12.50 pm with Intercity Coachlines and travel north through the cities of Omaru and Timaru arriving in Christchurch 6.55 pm. There is also the option to take a morning coach.
** Please note over the winter months of April - Sep the Alpines Coach/Taieri Train option is not avavaible, and travel will be on the Intercity Coach from Queenstown right through to Dunedin.
