Day 1: Christchurch - Dunedin
Travel south by InterCity coach over the Canterbury Plains to the cities of Timaru and Oamaru. Follow the coastline to Palmerston and then its over the Kilmog Hill and Mount Cargill to Dunedin - the Edinburgh of the south. Arrive Dunedin 1.45pm.
Accommodation: Scenic Hotel Southern Cross, Alexis Motor Lodge or similar.
Travel south by InterCity coach over the Canterbury Plains to the cities of Timaru and Oamaru. Follow the coastline to Palmerston and then its over the Kilmog Hill and Mount Cargill to Dunedin - the Edinburgh of the south. Arrive Dunedin 1.45pm.
Accommodation: Scenic Hotel Southern Cross, Alexis Motor Lodge or similar.
Day 2: Dunedin - Queenstown
This morning travel with Alpine Coachlines in connection with the Taieri Gorge Train on a track & trail journey. Enjoy a sentimental journey over viaducts and through the Central Otago hill country to Pukarangi. From there, travel by coach following the historical Otago goldfields trail before arriving in Queenstown approximately 5pm.
Accommodation: Scenic Suites Queenstown, Bella Vista Motel or similar.

Travel with Great Sights to the Fiordland National Park - a world heritage park. A vast remote wilderness of snow-capped mountains, glacial lakes and valleys, fiords, waterfalls and dense rainforests.
From Te Anau, travel to the forested Eglinton Valley, Mirror Lakes, Homer Tunnel and Chasm before arriving at Milford Sound. Enjoy a one and a half hour cruise of Milford Sound viewing the spectacular waterfalls and famous Mitre Peak.

A full day for you to enjoy this fabulous resort. We have included the Skyline Gondola in your tour. There are dozens of activities including white water rafting, jetboating, bungy jumping, lake cruises, high country sheep station tours and excellent walking trails. Something for everyone.

Day 5: Queenstown - Franz Josef
Leaving Queenstown at 8.10am with Newmans Coachlines, travel to the West Coast passing through Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea before climbing over the Haast Pass into the Westland National Park. The Haast Pass is our southern-most pass that traverses the Southern Alps linking the east coast with the west coast. Arrive into Franz Josef at 4.10pm and you will be taken to your hotel/motel. At 4.45 pm you will be collected by Glacier Valley Eco Tours and transferred to the Glacier Carpark where you can take any one of the number of short walks available to see the glacier (this walk is not guided).

A remarkable journey of little more than four hours travelling from the west coast to Christchurch in the east. Sights include lush rainforests, the Arthur's Pass National Park, Otira Rail Tunnel, viaducts, Waimakariri Gorge and the Canterbury Plains. The TranzAlpine is recognised as one of the top six train journeys in the world. Return 6.15pm

A remarkable journey of little more than four hours travelling from the west coast to Christchurch in the east. Option: Spend an extra day at the glaciers and experience a half day guided walk onto the glacier or to enjoy some of the many bushwalks.
* During winter (May - September) the track & trail may have a limited service. Should the track & trail not be available, you will travel to Queenstown by coach.
