4 Day National Parks & Trains Tour
A four day tour with InterCity Coachlines and TranzRail around the northern and western parts of the South Island. Points of interest include: World renowned TranzAlpine railway, West Coast rain forest, Punakaiki blow holes and pancake rocks, scenic Buller Gorge, Nelson lakes, a cruise and walking tour in the Abel Tasman National Park, Nelson pine forestsand the InterIsland ferry through the beautiful Marlborough Sounds to Wellington.

Day 1 - Christchurch / Greymouth / Punakaiki
Board the world renowned TranzAlpine train bound for Greymouth via the Arthur's Pass National Park. Cross the Canterbury Plains, travel over viaducts and through tunnels and into the lush rainforests of the West Coast. On arrival in Greymouth board your InterCity coach for your journey north to Punakaiki.

Day 2 - Punakaiki / Nelson
This morning there is time to visit the famous Punakaiki pancake rocks and blow-holes, just 400 metres from your accommodation. There are optional horse treks and local tours
available. This afternoon board the InterCity coach for your journey north through Westport and the Buller Gorge to Nelson.

Day 3 - Abel Tasman National Park Tour
Your full day tour to the Abel Tasman National Park commences with a morning pick up from your accommodation. Drive through horticultural areas to Motueka and on to beautiful Kaiteriteri beach where you board your launch. You have various walking options in the National Park during the day before returning to Nelson at approximately 5.00pm.

Day 4 - Nelson / Picton /Wellington
Depart with InterCity Coachlines travelling through undulating hill country and the Nelson state forests to Picton, nestled in the Marlborough Sounds. Board the InterIslander for your ferry crossing to Wellington passing by many beautiful bays and hidden retreats along the way.
Arrive Wellington by 4.30pm.
