Day 1 Christchurch - Dunedin
Travel south with Intercity Coachlines over the Canterbury Plains to the cities of Timaru and Oamaru. Follow the coastline to Palmerston and then it's over the Kilmog Hill and Mount Cargill to Dunedin - the Edinburgh of the south. Arrive Dunedin 1.45pm.
This afternoon travel with Citibus out onto the Otago Peninsula, time permitting there is a brief stop at the Albatross Centre before continuing on to Natures Wonders where you join an eight wheel drive all terrain Argo vehicle for an exhilarating ride down to Penguin Beach. See a large variety of bird life and visit colonies of NZ fir seals, yellow eyed penguins and little blue penguins.

This morning is at leisure to explore Dunedin before departing at 1.55pm. Travel with Intercity Coachlines through Mosgiel across the Taieri Plains to Balclutha on the banks of the mighty Clutha River before arriving into Gore. There is a short break in Gore before continuing further south to Invercargill arriving at 5.40pm.

Begin your adventure to Stewart Island with a 1 hour ferry ride across Foveaux Strait. At 11.00am depart on a guided 1.5 hour tour of Oban and the surrounding bays - visit Half-moon Bay, Horseshoe Bay and Lee bay; the gateway to Rakiura National Park. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Free morning at leisure on Stewart Island. At 1.30pm depart Stewart Island on a 20 minute flight that will take you back across Foveaux Strait to Invercargill. Transfer to Invercargill information centre where you have free time to visit the Tuatara. Depart Invercargill at 3.25pm on your Intercity Coach bound for Te Anau arriving at 6.30pm.

Day 5 Te Aanau - Milford Sound - Queenstown
Regarded as one of the world's most scenic journeys into Fiordland National Park - a World Heritage area. Enjoy a one and a half hour cruise of Milford Sound viewing spectacular waterfalls and famous Mitre Peak. Arrive in Queenstown approx. 7.45pm.

Day 6 Full Day in Queenstown
A free day for you to enjoy this fabulous resort. We have included the Skyline Gondola in your tour. There are dozens of activities from white water rafting, jet boating, lake cruise, and excellent walking trails. Something for everyone.

Day 7 Queenstown - Franz Josef
Leaving Queenstown with Newmans Coachlines, travel to the West Coast passing through Cromwell and Hawea before climbing over the Haast Pass into Westland National Park. Arrive into Franz at 4.10pm. At 4.45pm you will be collected by shuttle and transferred to the glacier carpark where you take a short walk to a glacier lookout point (this walk is not guided).

Day 8 Franz Josef - Greymouth - Christchurch
Travel north with Intercity Coachlines through lush rainforest to the TranzAlpine train. Enjoy a remarkable train journey across the Southern Alps and across the Canterbury Plains to Christchurch arriving approx. 6.15pm.
$80 per person, picnic lunch $14.50 Tour departs from Stewart Island Ferry Terminal at 12.45pm (01 Oct - 30 Apr). Enjoy a leisurely catamaran cruise of Paterson Inlet viewing the coastal scenery and points of historic interest. Trip includes a guided walk on Ulva Island, a wildlife sanctuary where you will view rare birds and plants.
$35 per person Tour departs from Stewart Island Ferry Terminal at 11.30am all year, plus 1.30pm (01 Oct - 30 Apr). Enjoy a cruise of sheltered Half-moon Bay on board the semi-submersible Mollymawk. View Stewart Island's internationally acclaimed rich marine life, kelp forests, diverse fish species and other sea life. Your nature guide will provide you with detailed information during the cruise.
