Day 1 Christchurch/Mount Cook
Travel southwest with Newmans Coach Lines to Mount Cook village via Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. There are excellent photographic opportunities at the beautiful Church of the Good Shepherd. Arrive at Mount Cook at 1.45pm.

There are many beautiful nature and alpine walks from half an hour to 5 hours in the national park - they are all clearly marked. Call at the Visitor Information Centre for further information.

Day 2 Mount Cook/Queenstown
This morning is free and we recommend an optional 40 minute ski plane flight (extra cost) that will show you some of New Zealand's most spectacular alpine scenery including Mount Cook and a landing on the Tasman Glacier.

This afternoon transfer to Queenstown with Newmans Coach Lines arriving approximately 6.30pm.

Day 3 Queenstown/Dunedin
This morning is free for shopping or adventure activities. In the afternoon travel with Citibus
Newtons following the historical Otago goldfields trail to Pukerangi. Join the Taieri Gorge train for a sentimental journey over viaducts and through the Central Otago hill country to the city of Dunedin.

Day 4 Otago Peninsula
This morning depart on a Dunedin heritage tour by double-decker bus. See the well known landmarks established by the early Scottish settlers. Return to hotel by 11.30am.

This afternoon enjoy a cruise with Monarch Wildlife Cruises around the Taiaroa Heads to view the northern royal albatross soaring high above the headlands. Other species to be seen include the blue penguin, sooty shearwater, variable oyster catcher, three species of shag and other sea birds. Disembark at Wellers Rock and transfer by coach to Penguin Place for a guided land tour of the yellow-eyed penguins. Return to the city by coach.

Day 5 Dunedin/Te Anau
Dunedin boasts some beautiful architecture - a quiet stroll around the city can be most rewarding. In the afternoon board the InterCity coach for your journey through the lush pastures of Otago and Southland to the lakeside resort of Te Anau.

Day 6 Te Anau/Milford/Queenstown
Travel with Newmans Coach Lines to the Fiordland National Park - a world heritage area. A vast remote wilderness of snow-capped mountains, glacial lakes and valleys, fiords, waterfalls and dense rainforests.

From Te Anau, travel to the forested Eglinton Valley, Mirror Lakes, Homer Tunnel and Chasm before arriving at Milford Sound. Enjoy a one and a half hour cruise of Milford
Sound viewing the spectacular waterfalls and famous Mitre Peak.

An optional scenic flight may be taken for the return journey home to Queenstown (arranged by the coach driver on the day)

Day 7 Free Day in Queenstown
A free day for you to enjoy this fabulous resort. We have included the Skyline Gondola in your tour. There are dozens of activities including white water rafting, jetboating, bungy jumping, lake cruises, high country sheep station tours and excellent walking trails. Something for everyone.

Day 8 Queenstown/Franz Josef
Leaving Queenstown with InterCity Coachlines travel to the West Coast passing through Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea before climbing over the Haast Pass into the Westland National Park. Arrive Franz Josef 4.20pm.

Day 9 Full Day at Franz Josef
Today we have included a half day guided walk which accesses the rugged terminal ice face of the Franz Josef glacier. Enjoy a fascinating commentary on the history and geology of the area. The rest of the day is free for optional activities including short walks into the native rainforest or for scenic flights up to the glaciers.

Day 10 Franz Josef/Punakaiki
Travel north with InterCity Coachlines through the Westland National Park to Greymouth and then on to Punakaiki. Time to visit the pancake rocks and blowholes, just 400 metres from your accommodation. Arrive Punakaiki at 2.35pm.

Day 11 Punakaiki/Nelson
There are optional horse treks and local tours available. This afternoon board the InterCity coach for your journey north through Westport and the Buller Gorge to Nelson.

Day 12 Abel Tasman National Park Tour
Your full day tour to the Abel Tasman National Park commences with a morning pick up from your accommodation. Drive through horticultural areas to Motueka and on to beautiful Kaiteriteri beach where you board your launch. You have various walking options in the National Park during the day before returning to Nelson at approximately 5.00pm

Day 13 Nelson/Kaikoura
Travel with InterCity Coachlines through the Nelson state forests to Blenheim before heading south to the seaside resort of Kaikoura. Enjoy spectacular views of the Kaikoura coastline and the seaward Kaikoura mountain range. Arrive Kaikoura by 1.00pm.

Day 14 Kaikoura/Christchurch
This morning enjoy a 3 hour cruise with Kaikoura Whalewatch to marvel at the giant sperm whale and the dusky dolphins. Kaikoura Whalewatch has won many international awards for tourism excellence and marine conservation. In the afternoon return to Christchurch on the TranzCoastal train. Arrive Christchurch 7.00pm
