Our day commences with a coach ride across the Canterbury Plains to the Waimakariri Gorge. Spray jackets, hats and lifejackets are issued to each passenger before boarding the famous Hamilton jet-boat for a ride up one of New Zealand's major snow-fed rivers. Weave in and out of rock faces, white water rapids and high walled rock canyons.

From the river we board our four wheel drive vehicle and journey across Torlesse Station. We reach a point of over 3000 feet for views over the Canterbury Plains. A delicious luncheon awaits you before we continue our journey to Arthur's Pass.

Our journey home is on The TranzAlpine train, rated one of the top six train journeys in the world - numerous tunnels, viaducts, river canyons and the rain-forest of the Arthur's Pass National Park make this a journey to remember. During the winter months due to shorter daylight hours the latter portion of the train journey may be in darkness.
